What is it?
Nerve release is a surgical technique that can be used with injuries involving nerve compressions such as carpal tunnel syndrome and cubital tunnel syndrome. Compression injuries are a result of when muscles or other connective tissue in the hand/wrist region (in this instance) become abnormally tight and squeeze the nerve.
How is it Performed?
Surgeons will either cut the band or remove the region that is constricting or compressing the nerve. However, full recovery can take several months post operation.
